     All my life I’ve been in awe of artists. When asked how he could carve such a life like bird from a block of wood, I heard an artist say he just cut away everything that wasn’t the bird.

I came to understand this somewhat when I began making bamboo fly rods. You take a natural material and actually cut away everything that’s not a fly rod, bind it together and it will perform the way you designed it.

I’m not an artist by any means but I do have a passion; It’s making and fishing with bamboo fly rods.
